Goals 2023-2026
1 Jan 2023Goals
Two years ago I wrote Goals 2021-2023 and looking back at that now at the almost-start of 2023, I am so proud to say I was 95% successful in reaching every goal I had.
Time for some new ones! Let’s describe the Victoria of 2026…
It’s January of 2026 and I am 24 years old. I have spent the last 3 years experimenting and growing in my career and personal life. This is what I have done:
Career:
- Grow my knowledge of the AI industry
- Grow my presence
- Grow my knowledge of Python and development
Life:
- Find more of myself
- Explore, learn, and record experiences
- Push the boundaries of what I’m capable of
Overall, I’m looking to further define myself and the person I want to become, as well as collect stories and experiences to reflect on. I don’t want to be stuck or stagnant, I want to be dynamic and malleable.
Career
Goal #1: Grow my knowledge of the AI industry
I was stuck on this for awhile, I think because it was too confined. I want to be able to recognize major people and brands in the AI industry, and what they’re doing to grow. I want to know trends happening, and where growth is. I want to know what still can be improved and expanded, and where I, in particular, am interested in continuing my knowledge-growth in.
Goal #2: Grow my presence
Avenues:
- conferences and talks
- TikTok, YouTube, and other online videos
- Blog, Twitter, and LinkedIn
My goal is to grow my network and to build up a presence in the AI development community through several different platforms. I want to grow my confidence in what I know and can share, and also gain the skills needed for conference speaking and video making. I want to document things I learn and be an active member and teacher of the NLP online community.
Goal #3: Grow my knowledge of Python and development
This is a pretty vague goal, and not really for a good reason. I’m not sure I really know what I don’t know, I think it’s more about fine-tuning my development skills. I want to be able to create projects with concise, beautiful code that works, and I want to be able to do this faster than I currently can.
My main focus will probably be Python, but I’d also like to dabble a bit some front-end web development. I’d like to accomplish this through a project and applicational based approach.
Life
Goal #1: Find more of myself
Sometimes you’ve got to get a little lost if you want to be found, so I’m on a mission to rediscover who I am and who I want to be.
Filling time without being full
I want my time to feel full, but I still want to leave time for feeling empty and free. I want to enjoy my youth a little, break habits and not be confined to time. But at the same time, reach these goals and grow as a person. This is probably the trickiest one to measure.
Doing things scared
I am, surprisingly, a very anxiety-ridden person. I don’t really like being uncomfortable, but I also understand the value of it, and most of the time, it leads to some amazing experiences that I wouldn’t have had if I was too scared to start. So - the mindset is to do things scared, to not let fear stop the adventure, but rather enhance the experience.

Fake it til you make it
Ok, not going to lie here, I think that me having confidence in myself is a pretty big ask. However, I do think it’s something I need to work on, particularly the aspect of not being perfect.
Goal #2: Explore, learn, and record experiences
I’m going to be living in Europe, a dream of mine for a long time. I don’t want to be stagnant though, so explore, learn, and live (but like, not that cheesy 🧀).
Explore new things
Learn from your surroundings
Record my experiences
Goal #3: Push the boundaries of what I’m capable of
This one is pretty general, but I’ve decided to leave it this way. I know I’m going to grow in ways I don’t necessarily expect, and this goal allows me to continually improve in things without having to necessarily know what they all are yet.
Avenue #1: Physical fitness
Avenue #2: Learning
Avenue #3: Creating
As was with the last set of goals, I can’t imagine how good, perfect even, of a place I will be if I reach all of these. But that’s the fun in it I guess, you never know the future, can only guess at who you will be, at where the world will be. I know I’ll have more than just this in three years time, I’m not the kind of person to be satisfied very easily with what I’ve accomplished. I only hope to make myself proud of how far I’ve come, and be excited by how much more I can grow. - Victoria of 20.11.2022
